July 1941 Takano Seisakusho opened as a privately-run business in Mukojima Ward, Tokyo Prefecture (now Sumida Ward, Tokyo Metropolis).
July 1953 Established Takano Seisakusho Co., Ltd. in Miyada Village, Ina County, Nagano Prefecture with a capital of 300,000 yen as a manufacturer and distributor of different types of springs.
August 1954 Newly constructed the Miyata Factory as a manufacturing facility for flat springs and wire springs in Miyata Village, Ina County, Nagano Prefecture.
March 1962 Developed a spring-loaded folding chair based on the technologies accumulated through spring manufacturing.
October 1963 Newly constructed the Yokohama Factory in Midori Ward, Yokohama City (now Tsuzuki Ward, Yokohama City) as an automotive parts manufacturing facility.
December 1966 Established chair manufacturing line in the Miyata Factory.
March 1968 Established Nikko Trading Co., Ltd. (now Nikko Co., Ltd.) as an affiliated company to facilitate the purchase of tools, machinery, and other necessities.
November 1968 Started business with Kokuyo Co., Ltd.
October 1969 Newly constructed the Sawando Factory (now the Ina Factory) in Ina City, Nagano Prefecture as a chair manufacturing facility.
August 1973 Changed the company name to Takano Co., Ltd.
September 1979 Established Takano Machinery Co., Ltd. as an affiliated company for the design, manufacture, and distribution of dedicated machinery and molds.
March 1982 The Ina Factory started manufacturing exterior products.
December 1983 Established a special products factory for manufacturing electronics-related products in Miyada Village, Ina County, Nagano Prefecture.
August 1985 Newly constructed the Shimojima Factory in Ina City, Nagano Prefecture as a manufacturing facility for high-end rotating office chairs.
August 1985 Developed and started to manufacture and distribute solenoid actuators for electronics-related products.
September 1985 Established the Tokyo Office (now Tokyo Sales Office) in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo.
June 1985 Completed the first Image Processing Machine.
March 1989 Newly constructed the Minamidaira Factory as a manufacturing facility for exterior products (now for image processing inspection machinery) in Miyata Village, Ina County, Nagano Prefecture.
April 1992 Absorbed Takano Sales Co., Ltd. (founded in September 1985) to bring together the manufacture and distribution of electronics-related products under one roof.
February 1994 Established Hakodate Operations for the development of image processing inspection machinery in Hakodate City, Hokkaido Prefecture.
May 1994 Delivered AFM(atomic force microscope) to Tokyo University.
July 1995 Company shares were registered as over-the-counter shares with the Japan Securities Dealers’ Association.
December 1996 Obtained ISO9001 certification (solenoid actuators).
February 1997 Listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Second Section.
November 1997 Obtained ISO9001 certification (office furniture).
January 1999 Newly constructed the Mazumi Factory (and Warehouse) in Komagane City, Nagano Prefecture as a manufacturing and logistics hub for exterior products.
March 1999 Obtained ISO14001 certification (office furniture).
March 1999 Obtained ISO9001 certification (exterior products).
August 1999 Obtained ISO9002 certification (now ISO9001 certification) (Miyata Factory).
September 1999年 Obtained ISO9001 certification (image processing inspection machinery)
January 2001 Established Opt One Co., Ltd. (liquidated in December 2009) in Fujieda city, Shizuoka Prefecture as an affiliated company to enhance our electronics-related business basis.
September 2001 Obtained ISO14001 certification (Headquarters, Healthcare Division, Unit Product Division, exterior products, and electronics-related products).
March 2004 Company shares were designated to the Tokyo Stock Exchange First Section.
February 2005 Established Taiwan Takano Co., Ltd. to enhance the provision of maintenance and service of our image processinginspection machinery in Taiwan.
May 2006 Established Takano Korea Co., Ltd. to boost sales of our image processing inspection machinery in South Korea.
November 2009 Obtained the Marketing Authorization License for Class II Medical Equipment and the Medical Equipment Manufacturing License (medical equipment in general).
January 2010 Established Shanghai Takano Trading Co., Ltd. to enhance the procurement and sales of office furniture products in China.
March 2010 Obtained ISO13485 certification (healthcare).
August 2014 Established Osaka Sales Office in Kita Ward, Osaka Prefecture.
November 2017 Established the Saitama Office in Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture due to the acquisition of the appearance inspection equipment business for semiconductor and other related fields.
October 2018 Established the Oita CS Centre in Oita City, Oita Prefecture.
August 2019 Established Takano of America Inc. to sell industrial automation products (solenoid actuators, etc.) in the U.S.
November 2019 Established Yokohama Technology Development Center in Tsuzuki-ku, Yokohama City.
April 2022 Transitioned to the standard market in line with the revision of the market classification of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
March 2023 Made Yuki Trading Co., Ltd. into our subsidiary to strengthen sales in the welfare and health fields.
September 2023 Takano Electronics (ShenZhen) Co., Ltd. was established to strengthen sales of industrial automation products (solenoid actuators, etc.) in China.
November 2023 Started sales of SiLIS (Simultaneous Luminescence Immunoassay System), a rapid allergy testing system.
